Hamilton County is located in central Indiana directly north of Indianapolis.  Initially a location for bedroom communities, cities within Hamilton County have taken on a life of their own experiencing tremendous growth in not only residential construction but in new businesses coming to the area.

Hamilton County currently holds the #24 spot on the Top 100 highest per capita income areas in the entire nation and boasts an average household income of $85,178 - making it the most affluent county in the entire state (and reaching #6 according to the US Census Bureau in 2000).

Housing prices vary per community but the county average sales was for 2006 was $256,413 per the county report by Landrigan & Company, Indianapolis.

Named For: Alexander Hamilton, signer of the Declaration of Independence and first Secretary of the United States Treasury.
